De werking van ons lichaam is ons niet vreemd. In grote mate weten we welke uitwerking dat heeft wat erin gaat, op wie het reageert en op wat. Op dat wat eruit komt blijken visies te bestaan.
De substantie, de kleur, de afmetingen en de plaats van de verschillende organen zijn ons bekend, doch het hoe en waarom van de onderscheiden, van hun bestaan en het niet-bestaan van andere zal ons een mysterie blijven.
Waarom is vlees vlees? En waarom is bloed bloed?

The working of our body is not unfamiliar to us. To a large extent we know the effect of what goes in, to whom it reacts and to what. To what comes out if it, there seem to be points of view.
The substance, the colour, the dimensions and the location of the different organs are known to us, yet the how and why of the differences, of their existence or the non-existence of others will remain a mystery to us.
Why is meat meat? And why is blood blood?
